Description

A three-movement work for solo vibraphone inspired by the celebrated verse "楊柳岸,曉風殘月" by Liu Yong (柳永). The composition reimagines the poem's poignant imagery through shimmering resonances, sustained harmonies, and lyrical melodic lines. Each movement reflects a different emotional landscape: the lingering sorrow of parting beneath willow trees, the gentle awakening of dawn carried by the morning breeze, and the quiet solitude illuminated by the fading moon. Employing a rich palette of mallet techniques, pedaling, and expressive color, the work transforms classical Chinese poetic sensibility into a contemporary concert piece that explores memory, longing, silence, and the passage of time.
